Hi, I’m Alex!
I am a dedicated small business bookkeeper and enrolled agent, (Admitted to practice before the IRS), passionate about helping entrepreneurs focus on what they do best—growing their businesses. I provide bookkeeping and tax services to clients nationwide, streamlining their financial management so they can make more money, keep more of what they make, and work fewer hours.
I studied finance and accounting in college and grad school, then worked in investment management, where I developed an appreciation for financial statements and analysis (as well as a lot of other things involving numbers, spreadsheets, formulas, and such). Then I worked in the entrepreneurial and start-up world of financial technology, consulting with clients on finance, accounting, and investment platforms. Over time, I’ve found my niche supporting small and medium-sized businesses. By exclusively serving this community, I’ve developed tailored bookkeeping and tax strategies that help business owners increase profits, minimize taxes, work fewer hours, worry less about the books and taxes, and keep more of what they earn.
I serve clients across the U.S. virtually, with occasional in-person meetings in Chicago, New York and Austin. Let’s connect and explore how I can save you time and money and help your business grow.

FAQs
Many small businesses try to do their books in-house, but they may not know much about bookkeeping standards, which leads to messy books, an incomplete understanding of the health of their business, and sleepless nights. Hiring a professional bookkeeper allows you to focus on what you know best: the day-to-day running of your business! Your records are better organized, and you have solid data on which to base your business decisions. As a bookkeeper and tax consultant with a long career working with businesses big and small, I have the skills to not only ensure that you have perfectly clean records but also help you bring your business to the next level.
By keeping your books in good order—making sure that they’re organized, accurate, and up-to-date—I can help you assess what you’re doing well, what isn’t serving your bottom line, and where to allocate your time and energy. I’ve worked with small businesses that offer a variety of products and services, from healthcare to landscape design to scientific equipment, and I’ve always focused on helping my clients better understand their strengths as well as areas for improvement. My extensive training and professional experience allow me to analyze your data so that I can advise you on best practices to increase sales and profit and minimize expenses (and taxes!). I offer practical advice that’s easy to understand and is based on the numbers. You can hire any bookkeeper to do your books: I help you use that data to grow your business in a way that aligns with your goals.
That depends on the size of your business and the level of support that you want. All service levels include reconciling transactions and categorizing income. I offer packages including: basic bookkeeping for companies with a relatively small number of monthly transactions and revenue; standard bookkeeping for companies with more accounts, 100+ monthly transactions, and the need for financial statements; and a high-touch CFO-level service for companies with more accounts, a large number of transactions, and monthly revenue over $20,000. Let’s talk so that I can recommend the service level that best serves your needs!
Nope. We’ll operate on a month-to-month agreement. You can make changes at any time. Should you decide to stop using my services, I will finish the bookkeeping for the period for which you’ve paid and you’ll have access to all your records.
At the beginning, as we get to know each other, we’ll communicate often enough so that I can learn more about your books and your business, and I can answer your bookkeeping questions. Clear and open communication is key to my ability to deliver results! As time goes on, we’ll likely need to be in touch less, but we’ll review your books at least once a month and I always welcome your questions.
You’ll give me accountant access to your QuickBooks online account, as well as bank and credit statements (which should be linked to your QuickBooks account). I can usually complete monthly bookkeeping in 5-7 days; annual cleanups may take a few weeks. Once I’m done, I’ll present you with financial statements and a reconciliation report and we'll schedule time for a zoom or telephone call.
My services include: account reconciliation, invoicing, payroll, cashflow forecasting, budgeting, payroll, financial statement preparation & review, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory management, QuickBooks Online clean-up and catch-up projects, business consulting and more. Let’s talk about what you need.
I’m a QuickBooks Pro Advisor and only do bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online, as it’s the most commonly used accounting software. If you don’t use QuickBooks Online yet, I can help you get set up.
